2010 PSA Video Contest » A Voice for the River

The St. Johns River is one of our country’s most important waterways. Our river is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife and plants. The St. Johns has a fascinating and rich history. It provides numerous opportunities for recreation and exploration and is critical to our economy and quality of life. Yet, our river is polluted and needs our help.

This is your chance to inform the public about a problem impacting the health of the St. Johns, to offer solutions, to inspire action, or to express why your river is important and must be protected. You decide what you think is the most important and compelling message that the public needs to hear about your river. Be a voice for the river!

Help raise awareness about your St. Johns River and you could win $500!

All students who attend a high school or college/university located within the watershed of the St. Johns River are eligible to enter. The deadline is April 23, 2010.

Here is how to enter the 2010 contest

  1. Carefully read the PSA Contest Rules & Guidelines.
  2. Do some research and select your topic. Use the River Resources links for help. Here are some ideas:

    • Raise awareness about the value and importance of the river. Why is the river important to humans, wildlife, our economy, and/or quality of life and therefore worth our efforts to protect it?
    • Raise awareness about opportunities to explore and access the river and the importance of experiencing and "getting to know" our river.
  3. Complete and mail the Student Registration Form and a signed PSA Appearance Consent and Release form for anyone who appears in your video to:
